When I click the RSS icon at the bottom of the page in the frontend, I receive a blank page with the following text message:

Error creating feed file, please check write permissions.

Permissions for "/jomres/remote_plugins/feed_creator/feeds/" are fine (see the green checkmark in the backend).

Please let me know what I missed.

The message is quite clear Must be some upper level that`s not writable. Have you had any other permission issues in the past?
Please change the owner of the jomres dir from ftp use to webserver user. This way you shouldn`t have any problems anymore. If you don`t know how to do this, the hosting provider will help.
Let me know how it goes after that.
