Can the Unpaid Bookings plugin handle the deletion of bookings and invoices after a guest has failed to show up? I can't find any way of doing this at present (Jomres 4.2beta2). I see a need for this whether a property takes deposits or not.

The Unpaid Bookings plugin will delete all bookings that are not marked as "paid" after a period of tine (in days) selectable by the admin. If the deposit was paid, then the booking will not be deleted. This is useful for sorting the fake bookings and real ones. If you receive the deposit offline (let`s say wire transfer), you have to mark the booking as paid in jomres using the "Enter deposit" button, otherwise it will be deleted.

However, I think we can work something out to make the plugin delete all bookings where guests are not marked as "checked in", even if deposit was paid. Let me know if you are interested in a customized version.

I don't think my resources will stretch to paying for customized work! However, I think the ability to delete bookings and invoices for "no-shows" should be a core requirement for Jomres, or at least for your plugin. Just ignoring these bookings and invoices doesn't cause Jomres to crash but it does clutter up the database with booking and invoice details that can't be removed by a property manager.

I don't know how widespread the problem of no-shows is, but the magazine of the Caravan Club, for example, regularly points out that this is certainly a problem area for them. Adding such a facility would certainly encourage me to buy.

I`ll think about adding this....or better, a new plugin. But I`m not able to promise anything right now. I am still very busy with custom work.

Anyway, if the deposit was paid, there are still no-shows? I mean, the guest loses the deposit he pays..Maybe if you make the deposit a higher value, they will think twice before booking and not showing.
